Boathouse on the Pier: A Culinary Gem for Seafood Lovers in South Lake Tahoe

The food was delicious and our server Jake was fantastic. We ate salad then sea bass with asparagus and mushroom risotto for main dish then coconut sorbet. It was all excellent and delicious. There was a large group of us and we had a reservation for 7.30pm which was perfect for a beautiful sunset. The restaurant was extremely busy and they seemed a bit short staffed so it took some time, although it was worth the wait! Our server Jake went over and above to make sure we had a really great evening and felt supported. Perfect setting with the sunset and lake views. Thank you!

Great food and amazing scenery. Getting a reservation is a bit of a struggle though. I called them the day prior to make a reservation for two. I was told they don't do that over the phone, but if we showed up by 530pm, we'd be fine to walk in and get a table. So we did, and we turned away. Apparently the only way two people get secure a table for dinner in advance is to do it in person the day prior which was a little frustrating. Once we actually got to eat there though, it was very good.

Dined here for dinner and also lunch. Ryan was an amazing server, very attentive and fun. Recommend drinks which were delicious! For anyone not wanting an alcoholic drink, he makes the best Shirley Temple! Food was also amazing.

Had such a wonderful experience Food was delicious, atmosphere & view was amazing. Our server, Ally took such great care of us and was amazing at handling the entire place on her very own. She made our group feel very special and was so sweet to help make our two friends birthday dinner great! Will absolutely come back whenever I am back in town

The Boat House is truly a spectacular restaurant. The pasta they serve here is simply exceptional—every bite is a delight. Pairing it with a glass of wine while enjoying the breathtaking lake view creates an unforgettable experience. Dining here feels like floating on the water, surrounded by mountains and immersed in a mesmerizing atmosphere. The combination of stunning scenery, exquisite food, and outstanding service makes this place absolutely remarkable. A special mention to our server, Ally—she was incredibly kind and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. Her warm and friendly service amplified the magic of this place. We are on vacation from Florida, but without a doubt, we will be back. This place is a hidden gem that should not be missed!

Lovely restaurant. Beautiful view. Reservation recommend on the weekends. Food was great, definitely order fish taco! We also ordered scallops, but the portion was small. Great service, tasty drinks.

A brilliant place to watch the sunset. The sun reflects directly from the outside tables. Brilliant wine selection and cocktails. The food was superb. Punches well above its weight for Lake Tahoe. Definitely visit. Service superb - shoutout to Amanda.

Cute hidden spot with amazing views! Iveta was the best and should be employee of the year We had great drinks, good food, and a nice view of the lake. We missed sunset, but would be the perfect spot! Will for sure be back next time we’re in town.
